Job Description

Full-Time AM Masters Degree CA RN license Job Summary: The CNS, Rehabilitation, serves as a clinical expert in the delivery of advanced age-specific and developmentally appropriate (toddler, preschool, school age, adolescent, young adult, middle adult, and later adult) patient care and education for the rehabilitation patient, their families, or legal guardian(s); coordinates patient and family education, quality performance improvement measures, research consultation, and contributes to approved research projects; participates in evaluation of new products and development of standards for the rehabilitation patient; collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to implement best practice (protocols, techniques, and guidelines) and coordinates patient discharge planning for the rehabilitation patient; ensures continuum of care needs are addressed; utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism; contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population; performs other duties as needed. Job Specifications: Master's degree in nursing required. (Master's in health-related field acceptable if CNS certification was granted prior to the master's in nursing requirement.) Two years acute care nursing experience required. Rehabilitation and pediatric nursing experience preferred. Active California Registered Nurse License and California Clinical Nurse Specialist certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required by end of introductory period. Other licensure/certification as specified in the unit/department specific Plan for Providing Care. Able to: read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality.*HJ*HJJG *SH*JG *MH*JG
