Job Description
Full-Time AM/PM Bachelors Degree CA RN license CPR/BLS Job Summary: The incumbent is responsible and accountable to oversee and coordinate the implementation and management of research trials conducted in the Department of Cardiology. Coordinates investigator initiated as well as industry sponsored projects. Ensures protocol specific requirements are achieved through coordination of physician care, patient screening, recruitment, patient exams, investigational drug administration, accurate follow-up and documentation of patient's medical experience, and accurate documentation of research data. Serves as a lead and resource regarding research and compliance for investigators, nurses, and related clinical staff. Works independently under the supervision of the Research Committee, and balances priorities upon receipt of project direction and focus from the Principal Investigator/s. Oversees and directs the research projects of the Cardiology Research Section, as designated by the Research Committee. Performs other duties as needed. Job Specifications: BS degree in Nursing (will consider AS degree with two year minimum cardiology clinical experience). Current and unrestricted California license as a Registered Nurse required. Current BCLS (basic cardiac life support) certification required within 30 days of hire. Must achieve and maintain the status of Certified Clinical Research Coordinator within one year of eligibility through ACRP or SOCRA . One year research required; two years preferred. Knowledge and background in clinical research required; Cardiology clinical trials experience strongly preferred. Independent field data management experience in a variety of clinical trial designs, with knowledge and ability to successfully carry out duties both in clinical trial patient, and administrative requirements strongly preferred. Attention to detail and proficiency required in Microsoft Office software. Requires proficient use of computer, copier, fax machine and telephones. Ability to learn various computer programs in a short amount of time. Flexibility in adjusting work schedule to Clinic/department needs. Reliable transportation required for travel between clinic and meeting locations, as needed. *HJ* HJBB *MH*BB *SH*BB
