Job Description
Full-Time AM/PM Bachelors Degree CA RN license CPR/BLS Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the Nursing Management in conjunction with the Senior Nurse Manager and/or Director, coordinating all activities related to the nursing functions. Supervises nursing personnel, monitoring their productivity while emphasizing completeness, accuracy and concern for the patient. Interfaces with physicians, employees and patients, maintaining positive relationships with the ability to delegate and coordinate responsibility; develops plans for achieving objectives and standards pertaining to the nursing function. Utilizes knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices, and ethics in order to perform duties within the scope of their license. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the management of the hematology/oncology patient population on an ongoing basis; integrates the nursing process and the management process to provide patient care services and continuity of care for the patient. Job Specifications: Completion of approved program for registered nursing. Bachelor's Degree required. Current and unrestricted California Registered Nurse license required. Current CPR and/or BLS certification, approved by the American Heart Association required. Current Chemotherapy and current PALS certification required within 90 days of hire. Minimum of two years of experience as a registered nurse in either a hospital or in an ambulatory care setting required. Minimum of two years of experience with chemotherapy mixing and administration. Minimum of one year of previous charge nurse experience, supervising staff of 15 or more employees preferred. Use of computer, copier, fax machine, answering/transferring telephones, able to speak clearly, good digital dexterity, precise eye/hand/foot coordination, fingering dexterity, delicate/precise manipulation, handling/gripping. Must have good IV skills (peripheral and vascular access devises), chemotherapy competence. *HJ* HJBB *MH*BB *SH*BB
